Mount Mabel Wind Project

Project Overview

The Mount Mabel Wind Project has a nameplate capacity of up to 142.8 MW. The Project is located in the Thompson-Nicola Regional District, approximately 25 kilometres northeast of the City of Merritt. 

BC Hydro, Capstone Infrastructure, and the Lower Nicola Indian Band have executed a 30-year Electricity Purchase Agreement for the project as part of the recent BC Hydro 2024 Call for Power. More information about the 2024 Call for Power is available here.

The Lower Nicola Indian Band is located near Merritt, B.C. and is part of the Nlaka’pamux Nation. With over 1500 members LNIB is one of the largest Nations in the Southern Interior. LNIB has a long history of combining economic development with stewardship of our traditional lands and resources and protection of our culture, language and traditional knowledge.
